mesh gateway to node failover

If a mesh gateway looses its WAN (network cable gets unplugged), can it then become a node and grab signal from another nearby mesh gateway? Or does a mesh gateway become an unavailable device in the case of wan failure?

Mesh geteway can not becaume a node if loses the WAN connection. And it will be available only from radio side if network cable gets unplugged.
