Ubiquiti SR/XR radios output power offset table

Because of problems with TX power control in certain versions of the Atheros MADWIFI Linux Driver, the SR / XR cards were purposely programmed with a power "offset" which causes the driver to think it is transmitting at a lower power level than it really is. The table below shows the maximum power levels programmed into the cards versus the actual corresponding output power levels. It is important to realize that what the driver reports will be significantly lower than the TX power of the radio.

It is always a good idea to leave power levels at their default settings as this will produce radio operation according to the SR/XR specifications.

Radio Card Default/Programmed Max Power Offset True Max Avg. Output Power
SR2 16 dBm 10 dBm 26 dBm
SR9 16 dBm 12 dBm 28 dBm
SR5 19 dBm 7 dBm 26 dBm
XR2 18 dBm 10 dBm 28 dBm
XR5 18 dBm 10 dBm 28 dBm
